Driton Vllasaliu is a Group Leader (Senior Lecturer in Pharmaceutics) at King’s College London and a registered pharmacist. He has leading expertise in oral and pulmonary delivery of biologics (peptides, proteins, nucleic acids) and uses state-of-the-art tools in his research, including organoids, cell culture/co-culture, organ-on-a-chip technologies and microscopy.
He specialises in the study of biological barriers (e.g. epithelium, mucus, subcutaneous tissue) to effective delivery of biological therapies. He is currently pioneering the use of extracellular vesicles/exosomes for injection-free delivery of nucleic acids.
