Dr. Urmila Kulkarni-Kale, Senior Vice President, Citadel Precision Medicine LLP brings 30+ years of research experience in academia, expertise to manage national/international projects and collaborations with industries. Urmila has a distinction of having contributed to and being part of the growth of the fields of bioinformatics & immunoinformatics in India. Intrigued by biocomplexity and data diversity, her group at Savitribai Phule Pune University has made significant contributions in virus bioinformatics. She has developed several databases, algorithms, and servers which are firsts in the respective categories
She has published 50+ papers in the peer reviewed international journals and holds an international patent to her credit. A recognized Ph.D. guide with >25 years of teaching experience, Urmila has contributed to development of bioinformatics curriculum in India and to the internationalisation of bioinformatics education. Passionate about building capabilities, she has been faculty for several national and international training programs in Bioinformatics. Urmila is appointed as associate bioinformatics faculty (20% position) at the University of Southeast Norway. Urmila is serving international journals in the capacity of Associate Editor. Dr. Urmila Kulkarni-Kale is an elected member of the Maharashtra Academy of Sciences and an inducted member of European Virus Bioinformatics Centre (EVBC).
