Jane is the Executive Director of the Koch Institute for Integrative Cancer Research at MIT. In her leadership role she oversees industry/clinical collaborations with an eye towards media relations, education and outreach.
Jane’s scientific career began at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Genome Center, UK where she worked closely with Sir John Sulston on the C.elegans genome project – the first multi-cellular organism to be sequenced. From there she was an early leader on the Human Genome Project leading the Chromosome 1 initiative. In 1998 she made the leap across the pond to Cereon Genomics/Monsanto Company, USA where she led a new directive in plant genomics. Jane was at the Broad Institute for eighteen years as the Senior Director for Genomics Alliances and worked on various initiatives including her first task of taking a new whole genome approach the Mouse Genome Project. Her collaborations and partnerships have spread across the globe and have touched many groups from non-profit research teams to large pharma.
