Kevin Chaney is a Senior Program Manager for the Scientific Advancement Branch within the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC). He supports ONC’s Precision Medicine Initiative (PMI) and Patient-Centered Outcomes Research (PCOR) activities, as well as ONC’s Leading Edge Acceleration Projects (LEAP) in Health IT program.
Mr. Chaney co-led the development ONC’s National Health IT Priorities for Research: A Policy and Development Agenda to support alignment between the clinical and research ecosystems. Prior to joining ONC, Mr. Chaney was at the Federal Office for Rural Health Policy where he oversaw the Medicare Rural Hospital Flexibility Program supporting quality and performance improvement for critical access hospitals.
Mr. Chaney was previously a program manager for the Health IT Portfolio at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), where he managed more than $50 million in extramural programs and projects to generate new knowledge about improving the quality and efficiency of healthcare delivery through the use of health IT. Mr. Chaney earned a master’s degree in gerontology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
